"Meet: The Web Series" is a comedy web series created by Arisael Rivera & Bethany Geraghty.  

 

Written by Arisael Rivera the series  premiered in 2018 on YouTube.

Arisael is currently writing a second season.

PLAYWRITING.

Arisael Rivera studied playwriting while attending BYU.  He was co-founder of the non-profit theatre company New Play Project wherein he wrote, acted, and directed plays.

 

Arisael's original short play "The Look" was performed as part of New Play Project's first short play festival.  It was later performed at the Covey Center for the Arts and published in the anthology "Out of the Mount:  19 from New Play Project" by Peculiar Pages.

 

Arisael's full length play "Somos Sangre (We Are Blood)" took 2nd place in the Mayhew Playwriting Contest.

Arisael's latest one-act "Anna" was produced as part of Vulcan Theatre Company's "Forge Night" in July, 2018.

As a collaborator he has helped devise new plays with The Anthropologists, Theater in Aslyum, and with director Julia Sears.

 

 

 

 

POETRY.

Arisael has been writing poetry since high school.  He became a fan of  Spoken Word poetry and began writing poetry in that style.

 

At The New School he developed and devised a play written solely in this poetic style entitled "Sky Kissing Ground" with members of his cohort. 

 

He has shared his poetry at Nuyorican Poets Cafe, both on stage and online. 

His original poem "Jubilant Feet" was published in the anthology "Love Letters to Gaia" compiled by  Miro C.

 

He received an artist grant from Center for Latter-day Saint Arts in 2021 and wrote the poem "Trinity."  He was able to perform a selection from his poem at the Center's event "I AM: THE JOURNEY" in June of 2022.
